A further in depth look at the Vauxhall Astra GTC 0

We take a look at what experts have had to say about the driving the Vauxhall Astra GTC in today’s article.

In one of our previous articles, we preview the car describing it as potentially having the best handling in its class. We also mentioned that Vauxhall added various other features in order to make it a credible rival to the Volkswagen Scirocco. Does it reach expectations?

According to expert road tests, the handling is indeed brilliant. There is a tremendous grip to the road at high speed. When travelling around corners the car posses a wonderful balance. The optional FlexRide allows the driver to be more engaged with the drive with a better weighted steering system. (The FlexRide system will cost around £700)

A worthy replacement to the Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatch we believe. Does the Vauxhall Astra GTC have enough about it to successfully rival the Volkswagen Scirocco? Is it good enough to sway Audi A3 fans away?

The car comes with a great amount of sporty credentials. Components are specially manufactured to allow the car to reach tremendous speeds and performance levels.

It’s estimated that the 2.0 litre diesel variant will be the best seller. It offers a great mix of comfort, speed and economy. The petrol variants may offer more BHP and torque but we believe the overall features of the 2.0 diesel will see it comfortably through as the best seller. Not only does it offer a great performance, but cruising in the car is also very comfortable and quiet. It meets more demands from most drivers on the road. One major demand includes that of low fuel consumption. With the car said to achieve 57.6 MPG and emit just 127g/km.

Although the car is a three door, it offers a great amount of practicality. That’s a feature which the Vauxhall Astra is generally well known for and owners don’t expect that it to disappear, even with the car being transformed into a much sportier variant.
