Buick, a luxury car division of the General Motors Brand, has released an image of their upcoming SUV.

This has sparked rumours that Vauxhall, who are also owned by General Motors will release what could be an SUV version of the Vauxhall Corsa and Astra.

Marketing campaign

Fans were teased with an image of four blocks, three of them revealing the vehicle and the fourth showing part of the Buick logo. This was a clever marketing campaign from the American car giants. The three images seen were released at a rate of one per week, which led to higher anticipation of the next. The fourth block will stay covered up as the full version of the car will be shown off later at the Detroit Motor Show.

Rivals

If the new Vauxhall SUV car is to be released, it will be made to rival the likes of the Nissan Juke and the Skoda Yeti. An apparent release date is sketched in for the end of the year, according to rumours circulating around the automotive industry.

Will it be the same as the Buick or the Chevrloet?

Although this isn’t the official image of the upcoming Vauxhall SUV, many can be safe in the knowledge that the car will look resemble the image shown by Buick. There is guaranteed to be a different engine as well as a few minor design changes however.

Chevrolet, another brand owned by General Motors, is also set to release a brand new SUV which is also due for late 2012. Many believe that this particular model will contain a stronger likeness to the upcoming Vauxhall SUV.

Nothing has been confirmed as of yet. We believe that the car will contain Vauxhall’s new generation of headlights as seen on the new Zafira and Ampera. That would certainly attract customers.

The name of the vehicle?

News of the new Vauxhall SUV is so scarce that there is no name for it yet. Some expert sources believe that the model name could be something in the line of “Mokka”. Again this has not been confirmed officially be Vauxhall.

Prices are rumoured to be at around £14,000 and shown off at the Geneva Motor Show later this year. We can’t wait to see what Vauxhall have in store.
