New Opel/Vauxhall Corsa aims to end Fiesta dominance 0

New-Opel-Vauxhall-Corsa-aims-to-end-Fiesta-dominanceA new set of spy photos are currently doing the rounds in the motoring press, as Vauxhall/Opel begins the testing of the car they hope will end the dominance enjoyed for so long by the Ford Fiesta.

Spotted being put through its paces on public roads, the new Corsa is expected to hit showrooms by 2018.

The photos show – albeit heavily disguised – the new Corsa sporting a pair of slimmer headlights with a second set immediately below. The size and shape appear to closely resemble the current edition, with no major changes noticeable.

The new super-mini is rumoured to have a completely new platform which will lighten the vehicle’s overall weight, increasing the cabin space. The engine range is set to have a selection of various three and four cylinder options.

Whether or not a three door version will be released is unknown as yet; the current trend is firmly in favour of the five door variants. GM is intending to make a four door sedan version, which will wear Buick or Chevrolet badges for markets such as China’s.
