Top Gears Astra Just Can’t Sell… 0
If you watched Top Gear before Jeremy Clarkson punched a producer in the face and was consequently fired, then you must remember the ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ segment. Well the vehicle that was used in the last few seasons for this purpose was a Vauxhall Astra, and guess what, it just can’t be sold at all.
The 2013 Vauxhall Astra was up for auction for the second time in as little as six months. The first time the car was listed on eBay, a final bid of £17,800 occurred but, the buyer fell through and as a result, the car was put up for auction again. This time however, it hasn’t sold at all. So bidders could have had the opportunity to buy the famous car twice but haven’t.
The Astra, which isn’t road legal as a roll cage is fitted instead of air bags can be made legal again with the help of Vauxhall technicians. With tech line trim, 17 inch alloys and a 115bhp 1.6 litre petrol engine the car the car doesn’t sound that impressive. But, if we were to tell you that the car comes with racing seats, five point safety belt harnesses, a sat-nav, a colour monitor, Bluetooth and DAB radio would you then buy it? The car is sounding better right? Well, it was also driven by the likes of Aaron Paul, Warwick Davis, Margot Robbie and Will Smith, so now is it worth a purchase?
It is really impressive that the car has not yet been sold at all. Especially considering that the money will be going to charity too. All of the money that the car could make through the successful eBay bid will go to the automotive charity BEN. BEN supports present and past automotive workers and their families who are struggling in the industry. The money donated would make a huge difference in the lives of many.
We can only hope that the car is sold soon for a generous amount…
